Vestergade Kollegiet

Vestergade Kollegiet is a small and cozy hall of residence located in the heart of Aarhus. It does not get more central than this. Here you can rent either a room or an entire apartment. The busy city life is just outside the front door, but you can lean back and relax in the yard, when you need some time to breathe.

The building is from the late 1800 century and has been renovated multiple times since then, but the old charm is still around. Note that there are no parking spaces available that belong to Vestergade Kollegiet. However, you can park your bicycle safely in the basement, and everything you need will be close by anyway.

Rental info

9 rooms (where you share kitchen and toilet/shower with 2 other residents), approx. 27-30 m2.
22 room (where you share kitchen and toilet/shower with 1 other resident), approx. 32 m2.
6 2-room apartments, approx. 44-57 m2.

Description: The rentals are unfurnished except for fixed cabinets. The residents in the rooms share an entrance area, a kitchen, and shower/toilet facilities with 1-2 other residents. The few 2-room apartments at the hall of residence are not shareable and are therefore most suitable for couples.
Rent: Depends on the rental type (for more information press “Apply for rental”).
Included in the rent: The use of electricity, water, heat and internet.
Pets: Not allowed.
Smoking: Not allowed indoors. Residents, who move in after 15.02.2023 are not allowed to smoke in their rentals.

  • Kettle barbecue grill (please clean the grate after use)

  • Chest freezers located in the drying room (remember to label with your name)

No car parking spaces available!

Cleaning of the shared areas

At Vestergade Kollegiet, we have introduced a cleaning arrangement where one of the residents receives a small payment from each tenancy every two months to clean the common areas. In this way, we avoid spending the residence hall’s funds on external cleaning services.

Common room

At Vestergade Kollegiet, there is a common room available for residents to use. It is also possible to rent the room for private events.

The common room includes a PlayStation 2 with a few games, though residents are of course welcome to use their own games as well. The PlayStation can be borrowed against a deposit in the form of a driver’s licence or similar identification. The television in the common room includes the full channel package.

In the bicycle basement, there is a table tennis table that can be moved into the common room. Bats and a net are available in the cupboard, but residents must bring their own balls.
