Grønnegade Kollegiet

Welcome to Grønnegade Kollegiet, which consists of 1-room and 2-room apartments. They are all placed on the first and the second floor in a building from 1983. There is a non-smoking policy and smoking is not allowed in any shared spaces at the hall of residence and new residents are not allowed to smoke in their rentals either. All the apartments have private kitchens, shower and toilet facilities, and the building is located right in the center of Aarhus.

This means that you have the beating heart of the city right outside your front door. From this location, you can easily reach everything that you need on a bicycle or by foot. Grocery shopping has never been easier, as an Aldi store is placed in the ground floor area of the building. There is a garden with a football field and a barbecue, which the residents are more than welcome to use. A limitied number of parking spaces is available.

Rental info

At Grønnegade Kollegiet there are:
30 1-room apartments, approx. 30 m2.
6 stk. 2-room apartments, approx. 54 m2.
Description: All rentals have a private kitchen, shower and toilet. There are fixed cabinets and parquet flooring. The kitchen is placed in the living room and equipped with cabinets, a stove, an oven and a fridge.
Rent: Depends on the rental type (get more information by pressing “Apply for rental”).
Included in the rent: Electricity, water, heat and internet.
Smoking: Not allowed indoors. Residents, who move in after 1.1.2020 are not allowed to smoke in their rentals.
Pets: Not allowed.

About the dorm

The garden

The garden is fenced and locked. Your door key will fit the lock.

The residence has a football available for use, which can be found in the laundry room. There is also a 4-metre fruit picker in the shed for the fruit trees (free food!). We have several grills at the residence. They are stored in the bicycle workshop, though usually kept in the garden during the summer. Please remember to clean the grill grate after use.

The garden also includes sun loungers, parasols, shade sails, and plenty of games.

Drill

The dorm has a drill (hammer drill) that can also handle drilling into concrete (unlike ordinary drills). It can be borrowed from the caretaker.

Please use the wooden strip along the ceiling as much as possible instead of drilling holes in the walls, as the person who takes over your apartment will most likely also inherit your old drill holes.

Common room

The common room includes a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave oven, stove, disco lights, and beer pong tables, making it a great place to cook for the whole group after a recently completed exam.

For a deposit (currently 600 DKK), you can borrow the common room for private parties. Send a reservation request to the board. You can find the common room documents in the document folder.

Other facilities

Freezer: Each refrigerator has a small freezer compartment. In addition, there is a shared chest freezer in the laundry basement. Please store food in bags labelled with your name. It is not permitted to use a personal freezer at the residence.

Main entrance code lock: To prevent random people from using the stair tower as a temporary residence, the door is fitted with a code lock. The code may be changed at any time by the section board if misuse is suspected.

Mattresses: We have a number of spare mattresses stored in the drying room. Please return them after use, of course.

Laundry: A paid laundry facility is available at Grønnegade Kollegiet.
