Fredensgade Kollegiet

Welcome to Fredensgade Kollegiet, which is placed in the center of Aarhus – only a stone’s throw from the central bus station and the shopping street. This hall of residence consists of two houses; one situated with the front to the street and one placed in the yard. Here you can rent either a room, a 1-room or a 2-room apartment.

At Fredensgade Kollegiet there is a broad selection of shared facilities, which can be used by all the residents. In the basement, you can find the laundry room, and in the backyard there are a few parking spaces available. A car is not necessary though, as you can reach everything you need by food or on a bicycle. In the common room, you can meet up with the other residents to play board games or watch a movie. You can also play table tennis og table football.

At Fredensgade Kollegiet you can find:

Description: All the apartments have private kitchen, toilet/shower facilities. The residents in the rooms share kitchen, toilet and shower facilites with one other person.
Rent: Depends on the rental type (for more information press “Apply for rental”)
Included in the rent: The use of electricity, water, heating and internet.
Pets: Not allowed.
Smoking: Not allowed indoor. Residents, who move in after 1.3.2022 are not allowed to smoke in their rentals.

Laundry basement
You may book a maximum of 3 laundry time slots per day. Payment is included in the rent. If a washing machine is not working, contact the caretaker Søren.

Laundry rules: Use the website Condobutlr.com to book a washing machine. There is a link in the Facebook group where you can be set up as a user. Please collect your laundry once it is finished. It is allowed to take someone else’s time slot if it has not been started within the first ten minutes. Be aware that washing programs have different durations. For example, a hot wash (60°C) takes 58 minutes, while a colored wash (40°C) takes 45 minutes. This means that if you have taken over someone else’s booking, you can only run a colored wash (45 minutes).

Parking
The residence has a limited number of parking spaces in the courtyard. Each apartment has been issued a parking permit, which must always be clearly displayed in the windshield of the parked car. Guest parking permits can be borrowed and must be returned after use. Cars parked without a visible permit will be reported to the police and fined after two warnings. Please park your bicycle in the racks or in the bicycle basement.

Bicycle pump
The residence has a pressure pump for bicycles, located in the basement of building 14. Remember to turn it on and off so it does not run unnecessarily.

Workshop/bicycle workshop/waste room
There is a workshop/waste room located under building 16. You will find it by going down the stairs to the bicycle basement and taking the door to the right.

Storage
Each apartment has access to a small storage room, located in the basement of buildings 14 and 16. Your apartment key is used to access your storage unit.

Drill
Can be borrowed by contacting the caretaker.

Common room

Can be freely used by the residents of the hall of residence. The premises can also be borrowed for private events. To rent the common room, contact the person responsible for it. There are a number of games in the common room that you are welcome to borrow. Simply leave a note on the notice board with the name of the game, your name, and your apartment number. Please return the game the following day so others can enjoy it.

The common room can be freely used on weekdays and outside of bookings for quiet gatherings. Post in the Facebook group if you are having more people over for events such as a football night, film club, or similar.

Rules for borrowing

  • Not rented out on the evening before a weekday
  • Maximum 50 people in the common room
  • Maximum 2 parties per month (evenings)
  • Maximum 2 gatherings per month (afternoons)
  • Create a post in the Facebook group for Fredensgade Kollegiet no later than the day before the event, including your apartment number and expected time frame, so other residents can contact you if needed
  • Show consideration for other residents
  • Lower the noise level at 24:00 (midnight) and keep exterior doors closed
  • Music must be turned off by 01:00
  • Thorough cleaning of the common room and toilet after the event
  • Dishcloths and towels must be washed
  • Cleaning must be completed no later than 16:00 the following day
  • Do not play music in the pergola
  • The grill must be cleaned after use, and the pergola must be left clean and tidy no later than 16:00 the following day
  • Smoking is not allowed in the common room
