Rooms close to
the University

Welcome to Vilh. Kiers Kollegium, which is the second largest hall of residence in Aarhus. Here 30 students have their own room with private toilet/shower facilities in each of the 12 buildings. The location in Hasle, in the west of Aarhus, makes it easy for you to reach the different educational institutions in the city. The University and DMJX are situated about 3 km away, and Aarhus BSS only a kilometer from the hall of residence. On a bicycle you can easly get around the city and when you get back home, you can park it in the bicycle cellar. If you want to take public transportation instead, you can get on one of the busses that drives you almost to your front door. There is a terrace outside each of the buildings, which can be used by all residents, just like the gym, the common house, the fire ring and the beach volley field are for everyone to use.

The Rentals

At Vilh. Kiers Kollegium there are 630 rooms each on approx. 22 m2.
The room in itself is approx. 12 m2 and is equipped with floor carpets and a large sliding window. The rental has its own small entrance with fixed cabinets and a table, as well as a small toilet with shower facilities. There is a shared kitchen, which is equipped with cutlery, plates, casseroles, frying pans and so forth. There are usually spices as well. Each block has a terrace with table and chairs, a bicycle cellar, a storage room with a shelf for each resident and a drying room for laundry.

Rent: Depends on the rental type (read more by pressing "Apply for rental").
Included in the rent: The use of electricity, water, heat and internet.
Smoking: Not allowed indoors.
Pets: Not allowed.

Baren.dk 

Vilh. Kiers Kollegiet's bar has existed since the seventies and has had a great number of events, for example the sport day "Kollegiaden". We have also celebrated the Birthday of the Bar, Oktoberfest, Tour de Block, Girls' Night Out, Boys' Night Out, Christmas Party, Barathon, spontaneously planned events and a monthly quizz night with prizes. A lot of events to choose from. The bar is located next to the caretakers' office, on top of the laundry. 

Every semester the bar has different events which are promoted for at the noteboards in the corridors or at the website. Find more at the facebook page baren. 

Fitness 

Vilh. Kiers Kollegiet has its own excercise room, which can be used by the residents who has paid for a membership (DKK 200 for half a year). You can read more more about the practicalities, rules, opening hours etc. Membership, rules and contact information.

Laundry

Located in the basement under the common building. You pay with a personal chip and the cost will be added to the rent. The laundry has 12 washing machines and 5 tumble dryers.
