Cleaning the cooker hood

Cleaning the cooker hood is a part of the weekly cleaning procedure in stairway A and D, when the cleaning is your responsibility.

The decision to clean the cooker hood every week was made to ensure that the cleaning is easier done and to prevent and unsanitary kitchen environment. The caretaker will place the cleaning bowl in the stairway. The cleaning articles can be purchased in Lokal Brugsen, and the product is called 'Grundrens' and the cost is approx. 30 DKK.

This video shows, how to clean the cooker hood.

Cleaning agreement

The Resident council at Skjoldhøjkollegiet has decided on a cleaning agreement. The agreement applies to A, B and D-stairways. The purpose is to maintain a decent level in the shared areas of cleaning at the hall of residence.

Cleaning control

Each stairway has their own cleaning plan, and each resident is responsible for cleaning either the shared kitchen or the common room every sixth week. You can see from the plan, when it is your turn to clean a given area. The plan is based on a rotation system.

The caretaker is checking up on the cleaning every Tuesday morning between 8 and 10 am. If the cleaning is not sufficiently done, the cleaning company will carry out a proper cleaning and the costs will be imposed on you. The amount will automatically be charged over the rent.

If you have any complaints please contact the caretaker within the opening hours.

The cleaning can be done in approx. 1-2 hours, 8-9 times per year, so the work load is not overwhelming. We want to highlight that just because you have the kitchen cleaning duty a given week, you are not supposed to handle everyone else's dirty dishs.

Paying for insufficient cleaning

The amount will be charged over the rent and be imposed the responsible resident.

Empty rooms

In the case, where an empty room has the cleaning duty according to the cleaning scheme, the cleaning company will not be ordered to take care of the lack of cleaning.

Responsibility

Please remember that all residents has a responsibility to participate in keeping the shared areas clean (according to the lease contract and the maintainance regulations).

If you are dissatisfied with the cleaning check, you can contact the caretakers by e-mail:  skjoldhoej@kollegiekontoret.dk
