Your complaint must be submitted in writing and should only concern incidents older than two weeks in exceptional cases.<\/p>\n
If you (or a group of residents) wish to file a complaint against a fellow resident, you must first submit a written complaint containing the following information:<\/p>\n

- the identity of the complainant,<\/li>\n
- the identity of the person being complained about,<\/li>\n
- the nature of the complaint, and<\/li>\n
- when the incident(s) took place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

The complaint must be sent to klage@kollegiekontoret.dk. Complaints may only be anonymous in exceptional cases.<\/p>\n

Kollegiekontoret will process the complaint and assess whether the person who is being complained about should receive a written warning.<\/p>\n
Following repeated written warnings regarding the same violation of the house rules or the Rent Act, the resident\u2019s tenancy may be terminated (with three months’ notice) or summarily terminated (with short notice).<\/p>\n
In particularly serious cases, Kollegiekontoret may terminate a tenancy without prior notice.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
If a complaint regarding you has been processed and you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you have the option to contact the municipality\u2019s Resident Complaints Board.<\/p>\n
The Resident Complaints Board can, among other things, handle cases concerning:<\/p>\n

- The condition of the home upon move-in and move-out<\/li>\n
- House rules, harassment, etc.<\/li>\n
- Right of alteration<\/li>\n
- Water and heating accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The Residents’ Complaints Board can, among other things, make decisions regarding:<\/p>\n

- The validity of a decision made within the resident democracy<\/li>\n
- Issuing a warning to a resident<\/li>\n
- Making the tenancy conditional (meaning the tenancy may be terminated or cancelled if a new violation occurs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Both residents and the housing organization may appeal to the Housing Court if they are dissatisfied with a decision made by the Residents’ Complaints Board. You must obtain permission from Kollegiekontoret before installation. The installation must be carried out by the dormitory’s plumbing contractor.<\/p>\n
Application for permission to connect a dishwasher<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 please fill out the form and send or email it to your dormitory\u2019s project and faciltiy manager (find contact details under the “Caretaker” tab).[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Doorbell”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]If the doorbell no longer works, contact the caretaker.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Drains”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]Remember to clean your bathroom drain regularly (otherwise, it will clog). Type 1 \u2013 \u2018the cup\u2019<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n
First, remove the cover. Next, you need to remove the plastic funnel (do this by putting a plastic bag over your hand, reaching into the opening, and pulling the funnel upwards). The \u2018cup\u2019 is now exposed. The \u2018cup\u2019 acts as a sort of odor trap designed to prevent sewer smells from entering the apartment. Notice the steel handle on the \u2018cup\u2019; locate it and pull upwards (it is quite easy). Clean both parts over the open drain or into a bag. If there are large clumps of debris, put them in a bag; if there isn’t much, it is fine to rinse them down the drain. Use plenty of water to wash away the nasty gunk.<\/p>\n

Type 2<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n
Type 2 is slightly easier than Type 1; here, you should put a plastic bag over your hand (this is highly recommended), reach into the opening, and pull upwards. This allows you to remove the \u2018odor trap.\u2019 Clean it using plenty of water from the shower. If there are large clumps of debris, put them in a bag; if there isn’t much, it is fine to rinse them down the drain. However, make sure to use plenty of water to flush it all away.<\/p>\n

Access is included in the rent, and the facility is open 24 hours a day. Fire authorities conduct unannounced fire safety inspections once a year to verify compliance with these regulations. They issue warnings and, at times, fines if hallways and similar areas are not kept clear. The caretaker may also remove items from hallways and similar areas without prior notice. Please also ensure that escape routes in parking areas are kept free of cars, bicycles, strollers, and the like.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Heating Consumption”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]The caretaker\u2019s advice on efficient heating habits at Dania Kollegiet:<\/p>\n
Normally, the thermostat should be set to 2; this provides a comfortable level of heat. Some find this insufficient and set it to 2.3 or 2.5. This is also acceptable, as the building can be cold, and wind and weather conditions play a role.<\/p>\n
The thermostat is located on the pipe where the water enters the radiator.<\/p>\n
You should pay attention to whether the radiator is warm at the bottom\u2014specifically near the pipe where the water exits. That pipe should not be hot. If it is, the heat is not being utilized effectively and is being sent back into the municipal system, which incurs costs for the municipality. Ideally, the bottom section of the radiator (the lowest 10\u201315 cm) should be cool. If the area where the water exits feels too hot, turn down the heat.<\/p>\n
Please make a habit of checking your radiator thermostat setting and feeling the pipe where the water exits to see if it is hot.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Insurance”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]Kollegiekontoret Aarhus has taken out building insurance for the dormitory.<\/p>\n
The building insurance covers the buildings and fixed installations in the event of fire, storm, cloudburst, burst pipes, etc.<\/p>\n
The building insurance does not cover your personal belongings (PCs, TVs, mobile phones, etc.). You must therefore take out your own contents insurance. Ensure that the policy covers alternative accommodation should you need to vacate your room temporarily due to, for example, water damage.<\/p>\n
We also recommend taking out accident insurance. If your parents have included you in their policy, that coverage typically only applies until you turn 18.<\/p>\n
Please note that insurance does not cover losses resulting from a break-in caused by unlocked doors. Therefore, always lock doors to areas such as storage rooms, laundry rooms, and bicycle rooms.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Internal Moving”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]You have the option to move to a different accommodation within the same dormitory.<\/p>\n
Applicants seeking an internal moving have priority for vacant accommodation at the dormitory where they currently live. It is not possible to apply to switch from a two-room unit to two one-room apartments.<\/p>\n
Note: Single applicants are at the back of the queue for two-room units (ranking after both external and internal two-person applicants).<\/p>\n
Internal moving can only take place within the dormitory where you currently live. If you wish to move to a different dormitory, you must apply via www.stdenthousingAarhus.com<\/p>\n
Subtenants cannot apply for an internal moving. You also cannot apply for an internal moving if you have already given notice to terminate your current tenancy.<\/p>\n
You can find the internal moving form under the “Forms<\/a>” menu (look under “Other”).<\/p>\n
If you decline an offer, your application for an internal transfer will be cancelled.<\/p>\n
Note: You may be offered an internal moving offer before the notice period for your current unit has expired. Consequently, you might have to pay rent for two accommodations for a certain period. You will not receive the deposit for your current unit until approximately 14 days after the tenancy ends.[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Internet”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]Internet service from Bolignet-Aarhus is already available via your wall socket, and the cost is included in your rent. If you want wireless internet, you must purchase a router yourself.<\/p>\n
Please note that the router cannot be a mobile router or one provided by another service provider, as these are not<\/strong> compatible with Bolignet-Aarhus. You can purchase a compatible router at shop.bnaa.dk<\/strong> or at an electronics store.<\/p>\n

If you were issued a laundry tag or fob upon moving in, laundry costs are not included in your rent. The tag records every time you start a wash or use the dryer, and the associated costs will be added to your rent payment.<\/p>\n
LAUNDRY HANDLING:<\/p>\n
Underwired bras can lose their wires during the wash; these can get stuck in the drum and damage not only your own laundry but also that of other residents. Therefore, underwired bras must always be placed in a laundry bag before being put into the machine.<\/p>\n
Always check your clothes for foreign objects before putting them in the machine (you may want to rotate the drum once before starting the machine). Pockets must be emptied of all items.<\/p>\n
Failure to follow the above instructions regarding laundry handling may result in damage to the machine. The person(s) responsible will be required to pay for the repair costs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Limescale and Descaling”][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]The water here at Dania has a high limescale content. This means that the shower screen accumulates limescale, and the taps show signs of it too. Regular cleaning should prevent any issues. However, if you neglect it, you will be left with a problem on moving-out day, as the buildup can be difficult to remove.<\/p>\n
The caretaker can arrange for a cleaner (at your own expense) to handle severe cases, but products like “Plus Kalk” and lemon juice work wonders for routine maintenance.<\/p>\n
The tips of the taps are fitted with aerators that collect limescale while saving water and ensuring a good flow. These also need descaling occasionally. You can soak them in “Plus Kalk” for about half a day, for example, or use vinegar.<\/p>\n
You can also disassemble the shower head and descale it in the same way. Just remember to note how it comes apart so you can put it back together again.<\/p>\n

The home must be cleaned and cleared, and your keys must be handed over to the caretaker no later than 9:00 AM on the day you move out. From the time you give notice until you move out, you are still required to clean the common areas.<\/p>\n
The caretaker will conduct a move-out inspection on the day you are required to terminate the property. If you wish to reschedule the inspection to an earlier date, you can try to arrange a different time with the caretaker\u2014provided this is done no later than 3 days before the move-out date.<\/p>\n
